This special outing takes us through the dramatic landscape of Platte Clove, where we’ll be on the lookout for blooming wild azaleas along the trail. Along the way, Moe will share the natural and cultural history of the Platte Clove Preserve, including a visit to Plattekill Falls and a stop along the Hudson River School Art Trail where the region’s iconic landscape paintings were inspired.
Expect sweeping views, vibrant seasonal flora, and rich storytelling that connects art, ecology, and conservation in the Catskills.
This moderate hike is ideal for those who enjoy steady climbs, rewarding vistas, and learning more about the landscapes that shaped both the natural and artistic heritage of the region.
A gear list will be emailed before the program, but please arrive prepared with non-cotton layers, sturdy footwear, and enough water, snacks, and lunch for the day.
