Join the Catskill Center for a special literary and artistic program celebrating the newest edition of The Quarry Fox and Other Critters of the Wild Catskills with author Leslie T. Sharpe and illustrator Will Lytle, both selected by the Catskill Center for our “50 Stewards of the Catskills” tribute in 2019.
Date: Saturday, June 20th
Time: 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Location: Catskills Visitor Center, Mt. Tremper, NY
In The Quarry Fox and Other Critters of the Wild Catskills, Sharpe explores the wildlife and seasonal rhythms of the Catskill Mountains through descriptive, lyrical storytelling. From foxes and hibernating bears to monarch butterflies, her work highlights the beauty and biodiversity of a landscape she knows deeply.
During the program, Leslie will share a live reading that brings the wildlife and landscapes of the Catskills to life. Will Lytle will then lead a fun, all-ages sketching lesson inspired by one of the animals featured in the book, offering a hands-on way to connect with Catskills wildlife through art.
This program is free and is open to all ages, with a $10 suggested donation. Join us for an engaging reading, creative exploration, and a chance to connect more deeply with the landscapes and wildlife that make the Catskills so special.
