Central Catskills Collaborative to Host Scenic Byways Presentation on July 30th

The Central Catskills Collaborative (CCC) welcomes Nancy Alexander, Landscape Architect with the New York State Department of Transportation. Nancy is the Program Manager for New York State’s Scenic Byways Program and is responsible for assisting local byway groups with the development of Corridor Management Plans and designation nominations. The CCC is a group of representatives from six communities along the Route 28 Corridor, who are exploring ways to protect and promote the corridor’s unique resources. This meeting continues the discussion from June, when the Department of Environmental Conservation presented the "bottom-up" approach in scenic byway planning, referencing the agency’s 1999 Catskill Forest Preserve Access Management Plan.

The public is welcome to attend the meeting, which will be held at the Catskill Center for Conservation and Development in Arkville on Wednesday July 30 at 6:00 PM. The CCC is supported by the Catskill Center for Conservation and Development in partnership with the Catskill Watershed Corporation. For more information, please contact Peter Manning, Catskill Center Regional Planner at (845) 586-2611.
