Catskill Center to host May 21st Public Information Workshop on State Funding Opportunities
In coordination with the NYS Department of State and the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, The Catskill Center for Conservation and Development (CCCD) will host a public information session on Wednesday, May 21st from 1-3pm at its Arkville headquarters on NYS grant opportunities through the Environmental Protection Fund (EPF). Representatives from the NYS Department of State and the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) will be on hand at the workshop to provide information and answer questions about state funding opportunities available to municipalities and not-for-profits this year.
Information on eligible projects and application procedures will be presented by agency representatives at the May 21st workshop. Interested municipalities and not-for-profits from the Catskill and Hudson Valley region are invited to attend. Funding is available through OPRHP, DEC, NYSDOS Coastal Program and the NYS Water and Sewer Infrastructure Co-Funding Initiative.
"In addition to the broad array of EPF funding programs the recent passage of legislation listing the Esopus Creek as an "inland waterway" makes funding available for the first time this year to municipalities along the Esopus," said Deborah Meyer DeWan, Interim Executive Director of The Catskill Center, "as well as to municipalities along the East and West branch of the Delaware and the Hudson River, through the Division of Coastal Resources Local Waterfront Revitalization Program." Ms. DeWan added, "We’ve been working to expand support for communities in the region and are very pleased to have this additional grant information session held in the Catskills this year."
There is no fee for the workshop and pre-registration is not required. Attendance at a workshop is not required to submit a grant application. The due date for completed applications to state agencies for these programs is June 30, 2008.
