Reptiles & Amphibians of New York

Diana Strnisa, Water Education Specialist and a NYS Wildlife Rehabilitator for reptiles and amphibians, will introduce us to some of New York’s favorite residents. On Sunday, October 15th at 1 pm at The Catskill Center for Conservation and Development, Arkville, we will meet live reptiles and amphibians - including turtles, salamanders, frogs and maybe some snakes. Come and hear their stories! Find out why they are in captivity and how they would live in the wild. A celebrity guest appearance by the new New York State reptile that was chosen by students across New York State is sure to surprise you. Diana warns us that, "I get most of the "babies" as unwanted pets. They really make lousy pets and are much happier in their natural environment." The Catskill Center is a non-profit, membership organization working to foster both healthy ecosystems and vibrant communities in the Catskills. For more information please visit their website at www.catskillcenter.org or call (845) 586-2611.
