Hudson River Ramble: Hike the Long Path

This is a moderate 4.5 mile hike (approx. 4 hours) in the majestic Platte Clove, along the Long Path to Huckleberrry Point. Aaron Bennett, Director of Education of The Catskill Center for Conservation and Development, will guide the group to one of the most dramatic views in the Catskills. An optional 1/2 mile hike to 60’ Plattekill Falls will follow. Wear boots, bring lunch and meet at 10AM on Saturday, September 23rd at the NYSDEC parking area. From Route 23A in Tannersville: Head south on Rte. 16 for approx. 6 miles until you reach the NYSDEC trailhead that is on the LEFT (Steenberg Rd), turn onto the dirt road and park. Pre-registration is required, as space is limited 845-586-2611.
