Property Taxes and Forestland Seminar

Property taxes on forestland in the Catskills have become a significant concern to landowners as the region experiences rapid growth in land values and municipal budgets. This seminar will help landowners learn the vocabulary of the property tax system in New York State, how property is assessed and the tools available to help landowners manage this complicated expense. We will also explore the current public policy discussions taking place in New York State concerning alternatives for forest taxation reform. Join guest lecturer, Alan White, Director, The Nature Conservancy, Catskill Mountain Program at The Catskill Center on Saturday, August 12th at 1 PM. The Catskill Center is a non-profit, membership organization working to foster both healthy ecosystems and vibrant communities in the Catskills.
