Balsam Lake Mountain Fire Tower "A Season in Its Life"
Join Pete O’Connor, Balsam Lake Mountain Fire Tower Natural Resource Volunteer, for a slide lecture at The Catskill Center for Conservation and Development, "A Running Snapshot of the 2005 Season." The presentation encompasses the history, the renovation of the tower and the grounds, the weather, the people who climb up for a visit, and the wildlife that call it home. Balsam Lake Mountain Fire Tower was the first tower erected in New York State in 1887 by the Balsam Lake Club. Saturday, March 11th at 10AM. The Catskill Center is a non-profit, membership organization working to foster both healthy ecosystems and vibrant communities in the Catskills.
