#2006-05: February 3, 2006 "CATSKILL FAUNA" ART AT THE ERPF GALLERY You are cordially invited to the opening reception of "CATSKILL FAUNA" with artists Diane Atkins, Flavia Bacarella, Louis Buscher, Celia Clark, Ann Lee Fuller, Dan Flanagan, Betty Hamilton, Anne Kenney, Daniel Marazita, Susan Miiller, Estelle Nadler, Marguerite Rocholl, Audrey Steinhorn, and Pauline Vos on Saturday, February 11, from 3-5 pm at the Catskill Center’s Erpf Gallery on Rt. 28 in Arkville. More than 65 pieces of artwork will be exhibited at the Erpf Gallery. This show will be representing 14 artists from different communities throughout the Catskills with paintings, watercolors, drawings, prints, and photographs. The show depicts the native fauna in the area as well as many invasive species brought to America in the late 1700s. Diane Atkins draws drunellas and mosquitoes, the inhabitants of healthy streams; Flavia Bacarella presents woodcuts of porcupine, opossum, woodpecker, and rabbit; Louis Buscher takes photos of bald eagles, owls, hawks, and cardinals; Celia Clark portrays roosters, sheep, and blue herons with her magnificent watercolors; Ann Lee Fuller submits 5 oils of grazing cows amidst rising fog; Dan Flanagan delivers acrylic paintings of alpacas and cows; Betty Hamilton photographs the Walton Fair; Anne Kenney provides photographs of goats and pigs; Daniel Marazita amazes us with photos of katydids, gray treefrogs, fawns, red admirals, and others; Susan Miiller paints graceful deer in a woodland setting; Estelle Nadler features photos of a walkingstick, beetle, and moth; Marguerite Rocholl contributes her eloquent photos of horses and heifers; Audrey Steinhorn illustrates with her photos the behavior of swans; and Pauline Vos suggests with her paintings the whimsical qualities of the gold finch, sparrow, oriole, and chickadee. The public is invited to the opening reception on Saturday, February 11, from 3-5 pm. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9-5, and Saturdays from 12-4.
