Directions to the Trailheads
Trailhead on Spruceton Hollow Road
(Blue-blazed Diamond Notch and Spruceton Trails)
From State Route 23A - Proceed to the hamlet of Lexington, located west of Hunter and east of Prattsville. Turn south on State Route 42. In West Kill, turn left (east) onto Greene County Route 6 (Spruceton Hollow Road) towards Spruceton. Proceed past the trailhead for the red-blazed Devil's Path. If you are hiking the Spruceton Trail, the second trailhead is the one you want, its on the left. If you are hiking the Diamond Notch Trail, the third and final trailhead, located at the end of the road is the one you want.
From State Route 28 - Proceed to hamlet of Shandaken, located east of Big Indian and west of Phoenicia. Turn north on State Route 42. Follow up and over the Deep Notch, and when you come down the other side, at the bottom, make a right onto Greene County Route 6 (Spruceton Hollow Road). Proceed past the trailhead for the red-blazed Devil's Path. If you are hiking the Spruceton Trail, the second trailhead is the one you want, its on the left. If you are hiking the Diamond Notch Trail, the third and final trailhead, located at the end of the road is the one you want.Make the sharp left onto Dinch Road and follow to the trailhead, which will be on the left.Parking area will be on the right, and the trailhead is across the road.
Trailheads along State Route 214
(Blue-blazed Diamond Notch and Becker Hollow Trails;
Red-blazed Devil's Path Trail)
From State Route 23A -West of Tannersville and east of Hunter, turn south on State Route 214 towards Phoenicia. If you are hiking the Becker Hollow Trail, it will be along Route 214 on the right before the road climbs through Stony Clove Notch. If you are hiking the Devil's Path Trail, proceed through Stony Clove Notch, and at the end of Diamond Notch Lake, on your right, are the trailhead and parking area. If you are going to the Diamond Notch Trail, Follow Route 214 to Lanesville. Then make a right onto Diamond Notch Road. Follow until it ends to reach the trailhead.
From State Route 28 - Proceed to hamlet of Phoenicia, located east of Shandaken and west of Mount Tremper. Turn north on State Route 214. If hiking the Diamond Notch Trail, turn left onto Diamond Notch Road in Lanesville. Follow until it ends, and parking is on left. If you are hiking the Devil's Path Trail, follow 214 until you reach Diamond Notch Lake, located just after Devils Tombstone Campground. Trailhead and parking are on the left. If you are hiking the Becker Hollow Trail, go through Stony Clove Notch, and the trailhead will be along Route 214 on the left after your descent.
